EROTIC FLAPPER GIRL
FRENCH PERFUME LITHOGRAPH PRINT FULL PAGE MAGAZINE ADVERTISEMENT BY HAL PHYFE FROM 1925
This antique French perfume lithograph print full page magazine advertisement measures 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" (not trimmed) and it's suitable for matting/framing. It's advertising
Mystikum Parfum (Perfume) with an erotic bare-skinned topless Flapper Girl designed by Hal Phyfe (1892-1968) with a nice sepia tone. The female model has a bobbed haircut (popular during the 1920's) and is erotically clutching some flowers in her hands. The Mystikum perfume brand name suggests that men will "mysteriously come" over to women wearing this perfume.
The brand name and erotic design of this Hal Phyfe perfume advertisement would have been
provocative
for the early 20th century. This
antique French perfume advertisement was carefully removed from a 1925 International Studio magazine published the same year as the famous "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes" (International Exposition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industries) in Paris.
This antique French perfume lithograph print full page magazine advertisement is in good condition for being 95 years old. The sepia tone has good color and the images have good detail. The left side margin edge has tiny staple holes from the old magazine binding. There's a very lite corner crease on the lower-left corner not affecting the images. Please see photos for condition. This piece will mat/frame nicely!
