    How to store:
Ripen on kitchen counter (room temperature) for a few days. Once ripen, keep it refrigerated to slow ripening process if not eating right away.  Some may turn brown in refrigerator, this means they are really ripe, not Bad [same with avocado].
How to determine if a Custard apple is ripe:
A hard custard apple is not ready to eat.  A custard apple is only ripe if it gives slightly when gently pressed (similar to avocado). DO NOT EAT it if it is still hard to the touch (it will not taste good). Allow it to ripen at room temperature for a couple of days.  When ripen, a custard apple is easily broken in half by hand or using a butter knife. The seeds & skin are not edible.
